Eucon 3.7 and PT|Control

Hello,

I just updated Eucon to 3.7 and PT|Control to the latest (20 oct 2017) and Eucon app on my MacBook Pro tells me they are not compatible.

WTF ? Seriously, Avid's guys, it's enough ! I just paid 428€ for my annual plan, the most expansive audio app in the world, one of the worst code in the world, period.

I do not have a day without a crash with PT|HD.

hang on .. let me do the update and see what happens here ..

may i ask, are you on PC or mac ?? i am mac .. so if you are PC i can not be of much help

There was a post this morning from PT expert stating that AVid are aware of an issue with the Eucon 3.7 installer. Be sure to completely uninstall 3.6 manually before installing 3.7. Also, remember to back up your iPad first and system so you can roll back if it doesn't work.

UPDATE: just installed 3.7 and updated iPad .. on a Mac all is working as it should !!!

may i ask, are you on PC or mac ?? i am mac .. so if you are PC i can not be of much help

Be sure to completely uninstall 3.6 manually before installing 3.7

Sorry, I am on Mac (Sierra), and I uninstalled 3.6 before installing 3.7 as I saw the Avid notice before.

I can explain why I am angry at Avid. I use PT since 1997 as a pro. And I teach Pro Tools since 2008 in a university. I actually use PT|10, PT|11 and PT|12HD, always on Macs. The problems encountered are countless with PT (we have 12 licences, vanilla and HD). I also use several other softwares. As DAWs, I also use Nuendo and Reaper. Not another soft I know has one tenth of PT's bugs. I thought that the new pricing policy could lead Avid to hire good programmers, but look at the 12.8.2 bug fixes list. What do they do with all that money ?

I have to say that both Eucon 3.7 on the Mac and PT|Control on the iPad seem to work.
And...
I just made another test to copy the warning and paste it in this message, and what ? It worked ! I didn't made anything since yesterday, no reboot of the Mac, no reboot of the iPad. Just stop and start Eucon, as I did yesterday.

Avid ghost is in my computer...

happy to hear things are working now ..

let me say this to your "Angry" paragraph .. when i install any new software regarding pro tools on mac's, i toss my prefs and i restart my computers .. since you have been using PT probably as long as i have (i started with PTIII on a 9500 mac tower) i am surprised you do not do these things as well .. but we all have different systems and workflows .. and i will respect that !!

I started with PT3 on Mac as well. But nowadays, the need to reboot (Macs) isn't as important as it was. The Eucon issue didn't need a reboot as it was solved without rebooting. But, I often reboot the Mac after installation.

understood, i restart / cold start my system(s) each day unless i work around the clock .. interesting that EuCon issue solved itself without a reboot ..

and fyi: i did the install without removing 3.6 !! but did toss prefs and restarted ..
