Default Meyer versus Genelec...monitors

Hello ,
I am looking for a pair of very good studio monitors.I visited 2 places, one was a mastering facility and another a mobile studio. All are using the Meyer HD-1. I try to search around to find out ho else uses this and if it is anything out there that will compare with them. I don't know anything about the Genelec .I just know that cost a lot , same for the Meyer.
Can you help?
thank you
Lucian

personally, I think that the genelecs sound like butter (that's a compliment) but I don't have any actual experience with the Meyers. If you go Genelec, though, it's worth the extra money to get 1032s instead of the really small ones. and definitely worth considering getting a sub-woofer to go with them.

Miller & Kreisel. M&K.

Also not cheap. But I've mixed a bunch of movies and a couple records on them and the results are a revelation to me after 20 years in the biz.

M&K, man.

Which questeds are we taliking about here? F11s? I'm a long time 1031/1032 w/sub user and really can't fault them. I agree w/ the Meyer comment above, the active electronics dissect your mix for you - weird. Does Q make a sub for these; are they 5.1 capable/worthy?
If not, M&K is the way.

I just got the Dynaudio Acoustics BM-15a's and I love em. I was using Meyer's but I wanted something a little less hyped in the low end.

One thing that realy got my attencion on the MEYER is the option of bringing the monitor at factory settings and the flatnes. That gives makes me feel more easy if I ever I get to buy a used pair.
They translate very good to the "real world" listening devices. I have a pair of 2020BAS by Event, but I dicovered that many times after I finish a project and it sounds very good on those speakers when I go listen on the car for exemple I get such a diferent story. To boomy to may low frq. I can't understand, in the studio sounds perfect
...or maybe is just my ears .
Thank you .
