Pro tools 8.0 crashes out of no where

I have a Mac Pro,
2x 2.66 ghz dual core intel xeon,
with 2 gb 667 mhz of ramm
Pro Tools LE 8.0cs1

I have pro tools LE 8.0cs1 and when I open a session if i have 1 to 3 plugins inserted my rtas meter peaks which makes pro tools crash. This isn't just doing it with certain plugins if i just insert 1 to 3 plugins my rtas cpu just peaks. I can easily use 50 plus plugins with out a problem and now with 1 to 3 plugins my system is having a hard time.

Has anyone have this happen. I have reformatted my hard drive, trash prefs, i upgraded to 8.0cs1. this had just started happening out of no where my system was running great ever since i upgraded to pro tools 8.0 and now i can't even really run my system

Well i unstalled and reinstalled pro tools still having an issue. I am having an issue with the buffer size. I usually can run at least 30 plus plugins. Now i slap on my eleven plugin and it makes my system crash. i usually can run 5 sets of eleven with out a problem. I upgraded my emerald pack for my mcdsp plugins. I am also having issues with option dragging plugins for duplicating the on tracks. it makes the pop up saying increase your buffer speed. Anyone have any solutions?

also my rtas cpu should be around 7% but just out of no where jumps up to 100% and crashs

Have you done all the General Troubleshooting steps, including making sure that all installed plug-ins are the minimum version required?

Can you use the Tech Support Utility to post a list of installed plug-ins and their versions?

Also i have pro tools 8.0 running on a mac pro with 2 gigs of ram. I have a digi 002. I did a fresh install of leopard and have have 10.5.5 with the combo update and also i did a fresh copy of pro tools. I trashed prefs as well.

For what it's worth, I've also had Pro Tools 8 crash unexpectedly (as if it has ever crashed "expectedly" before).

I'm running it on an iMac, Intel 2.8 GB processor, 4 GB RAM, data to external firewire (Glyph) hard drives, 003 Rack daisy-chained after the externals. OSX 10.5.6.

Never had this happen with 7.4.2.

And I'm not running nearly as many plug-ins at one time. But I do know that they're all current versions.
