?How to "clean uninstall" 10.3.5 to get to 11?
I want to install PT 11. I currently have 10.3.5. So i have to "clean uninstall" 10.3.5 to install 10.3.6 before I can install 11.
When I attempt to uninstall 10.3.5, I am presented with 3 uninstall options. Which uninstall option is the "clean uninstall" option? 1) ProTools Only 2) ProTools, Avid HD Driver 3) ProTools, Avid HD Driver, Preferences, Databases and MIDI Device/Patch Settings SiSoftware Sandra ID Host Name : Eccentrica Workgroup : WERF STUDIO Computer Model : HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC 103C_5335KV G=N L=CON B=HP S=ENV Serial Number : 5CD14***** Chassis : HP Notebook Mainboard : HP 159B Serial Number : PCFEU01******* BIOS : HP F.1C 10/31/2012 Intel vPro : 7.01.10.1065 Total Memory : 12GB DDR3 SO-DIMM Processors Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2820QM CPU @ 2.30GHz (4C 8T 3.39GHz, 3.4GHz IMC, 4x 256kB L2, 8MB L3) Socket/Slot : FC PGA988 Chipset Memory Controller : HP Core (Sandy Bridge) Mobile DRAM Controller 100MHz, 2x 6GB DDR3 SO-DIMM 1.33GHz 128-bit, Integrated Graphics Memory Module(s) Memory Module : Samsung M471B5273DH0-CH9 4GB DDR3 SO-DIMM PC3-10700S DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-25 4-34-10-5) Memory Module : Elpida EBJ81UG8BAS0-DJ-F 8GB DDR3 SO-DIMM PC3-10700S DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-25 4-34-10-5) Video System Monitor/Panel : LGD Generic PnP Monitor (1920x1080, LP173WF2-TPB2, 23.9") Video Adapter : Radeon (TM) HD 6850M (SM5.0 575MHz, 1GB DDR5 3.6GHz 128-bit, PCIe 2.00 x16) Graphics Processor Compute Shader Processor : Radeon (TM) HD 6850M (575MHz, 1GB DDR5 3.6GHz 128-bit) Compute Shader Processor : Mobile Intel(R) HD Graphics (12SP 12C 650MHz/1.3GHz, 64MB DDR3 1.33GHz/1.8GHz 128-bit, Integrated Graphics) Storage Devices 2x WDC WD7500BPKT-60PK4T0 (1.5TB, RAID0/SATA300, SCSI-4, 2.5", 7200rpm, 16MB Cache) : 1TB (C:) (D:) hp BDDVDRW CA30P (SATA150, BD-R, DVD+-RW, CD-RW, 2MB Cache) : N/A (E:) Logical Storage Devices SYSTEM : 199MB (NTFS) Hard Disk (C:) : 1TB (NTFS) @ 2x WDC WD7500BPKT-60PK4T0 (1.5TB, RAID0/SATA300, SCSI-4, 2.5", 7200rpm, 16MB Cache) RECOVERY (D:) : 19GB (NTFS) @ 2x WDC WD7500BPKT-60PK4T0 (1.5TB, RAID0/SATA300, SCSI-4, 2.5", 7200rpm, 16MB Cache) HP_TOOLS : 97MB (FAT32) Optical Drive (E:) : N/A @ hp BDDVDRW CA30P (SATA150, BD-R, DVD+-RW, CD-RW, 2MB Cache) Peripherals LPC Hub Controller 1 : HP HM67 LPC Controller Audio Device : HP Cougar Point High Definition Audio Controller Audio Codec : Integrated Device Tech 7605 Audio Device : HP EG JUNIPER XT Audio Device [Radeon HD 5700 Series] Audio Codec : ATI (AMD) HDMI Audio Disk Controller : HP Mobile SATA RAID Controller USB Controller 1 : HP Cougar Point USB Enhanced Host Controller #2 USB Controller 2 : HP Cougar Point USB Enhanced Host Controller #1 USB Controller 3 : HP Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller SMBus/i2c Controller 1 : Intel ICH SMBus Printers and Faxes Printer : PDF-XChange 5.0 (2400x2400, Colour) Printer : Microsoft XPS Document Writer (600x600, Colour) Printer : HP officejet 6200 series (1200x1200, USB, Colour) Network Services Network Adapter : Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network) (Ethernet) Network Adapter : Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller (Ethernet) Network Adapter : LAN9512/LAN9514 USB 2.0 to Ethernet 10/100 Adapter (Ethernet, 100Mbps) Wireless Adapter : Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6200 AGN (802.11g (ERP), AES-CCMP, 144Mbps) Power Management Battery No 1 : Hewlett-Packard Primary 56.83Wh/4.47Ah Operating System Windows System : Microsoft Windows 7 Home 6.01.7601 (Service Pack 1) Platform Compliance : x64 Windows Experience Index Current System : 5.9 |

Re: ?How to "clean uninstall" 10.3.5 to get to 11?
I got one option only for clean install. I would go for option #1 in your case

Re: ?How to "clean uninstall" 10.3.5 to get to 11?
Why would you want to uninstall 10 anyways?
If you use any third-party plug-ins, and except for a very few, you will not be able to use them in PT11. Update to 10.3.6 and then install 11 normally. Both can run on the same computer, though not both running at the same time.

Third party plugins is NOT uninstalled when you do a clean uninstall. Avid recommend a clean uninstall before installing 10.3.6. Read documentation

I guess I initially thought that OP wrote he was uninstalling 10 to install 11. Guess I read wrong.

Re: ?How to "clean uninstall" 10.3.5 to get to 11?
Do a clean uninstall of 10.3.5.
Run the 10.3.6 installer which is a full installer. Run the the PT 11 installer and plugin updater. I would update your iLok software first and make sure thats all working 100% before doing any upgrading and updating. Making a backup of your 10.3.5 and 10.3.6 installs now before you install PT11 may be useful later on.

Whenever you uninstall any version of 9 or 10, select to remove the HD driver as well.

Re: ?How to "clean uninstall" 10.3.5 to get to 11?
Searching the whole web site, these are the 2 statements I found that apply to my situation:
Co-Installing Pro Tools 10 and Pro Tools 11 Pro Tools 10.3.6 is the first version of Pro Tools 10 that supports installation on the same system with Pro Tools 11.Co-installation support is limited to Windows 7 64-bit. If you have an earlier version of Pro Tools installed, it is recommended that you perform a clean uninstall before installing Pro Tools 10.3.6 and Pro Tools 11. Pro Tools 10.3.6 is a full installer Avid recommends uninstalling your current version of Pro Tools prior to installing 10.3.6 Reinstall the Drivers for your interface after a Clean Uninstall Based on these only 2 pieces of information I can find on the Avid web site about moving from 10.3.5 to 11, I will choose the 3rd uninstall option I noted in my initial email, hoping that's what ProTools means by a "clean uninstall". Then I'll reinstall the M-Audio driver, then install PT 10.3.6. THEN I'll try to install PT 11. By then, PT 12 will probably be out with a whole new procedure as to how to move to that!!!...... |

Re: ?How to "clean uninstall" 10.3.5 to get to 11?
I used option #3 with no problems. I always run a registry repair after a PT uninstall as well.
