Default Reason Drum Kits - Refill

Hey All,

What do you all think of the new Reason Drum Kits - Refill?

How do you all think it would compare to DKFH any version and BFD?

It seems it might be easier to work with then ant of the other 2 programs.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Ken

Maybe I should rephrase my question/request.
If you get a chance please check out the new Reason Drum Kits refill and let
us know what you think.

Please.

It seems to have some great acoustic kits. The demos on the site sound
very impressive. The way its described it seems to work in a manner very
similar to Drum Kit From Hell and BFD and should give a very similar results
with a lot less effort. Of coarse this is just speculation at this point.

If you have Drum Kit From Hell or BFD maybe you could check out the Reason
Drum Kits for those of us that like using reason with PT. Ultimately we
could all benefit greatly from your observations.

Oh! I forgot to mention the Reason Drum Kits only cost $129.00

Thanks for your time and effort,

Ken

P.S. No I don't work for Propellerheads!

I'm I the only one interested in a acoustic drum kits
that could be used in Reason rewired to PT
that the say could sound close to BFD for half the price?
I can believe it.

You can check it out at there web site-
http://www.propellerheads.se/home/discover/

It cost $129 plus shipping.

Thanks,
Ken

P.S. I don't work for them I just want to see if
anyone thinks it sounds O.K. or like Sh*t!
I thought it was pretty good. Being I don't own BFD
or DKFH superior I can make a comparison. But maybe you can.
Thanks

I think they sound pretty damn good from what I heard from the demos. I'll be buying this.

I just posted on another thread and thought that the info might help here also.

I've been using the original "Drumkit From Hell" sample collection ($100). That's all it is. Samples and kit files for various samplers. Then they came out with an "Add-On" kit ($30) that includes "kit" files to load the samples into Reason's NN-XT sampler. Works great. Same $130 and great kit sounds from Reason.

i don't have the other collections you reference, but i can say from my first few days with the propellorheads kits that they are a HUGE step forward in playability and versatility. they sound so natural that it's scary. and the ability to mix and combine different mic placements is almost silly it's so cool. in some ways it's even better than hiring a real drummer...if you don't have access to a world-class room and mics, etc... or you could have your drummer trigger THESE sounds. the velocity layers crossfade seamlessly. it's also cool that you can hear the other drum's overtones when you trigger say, the kick drum.

so yes, go for it. bang for the buck is almost a joke.

That sound like a good report.

Anyone else try it?

I got Battery 2.0 and it works O.K. but no mutli out yet. So the Reason kit seems like it would be more versatile.

Thanks,
Ken

I've had the Reason Drum Kits for a couple of weeks now. I think they sound fantastic. I can't compare them to the other programs you mentioned, but I can't imagine those programs could be much better. You have so much control of the sound with the Reason kits.

I'm doing a session soon with a drummer who will be triggering the samples with his yamaha drum pads. I'm really looking forward to hearing how that works!
