Default Call it stereo or polyphonic?

I did not realize Pt could export 6 channel polyphonic files because the choice types are mono or stereo. I was exporting a 5.1 final mix audio file for a film and discovered this by mistake. It would be easier, I think if the Export files window included a blurb next to stereo (polyphonic).

Does anyone have any preference for which is the best delivery file type for final audio elements for 5.1 printmaster, stems, and M&E elements, if it is not specifically stated in specs?

Mono! Nothing else will be universally understood, I always deliver my 6tracks as mono files.

If you have a 5.1 master output set on Pro tools, it should export poliphonic files. But only bouncing to disk...

Any DAW apart from ProTools expects 5.1 poly files to be in AES track layout (L,R,C,Lf,Ls,Rs). ProTools can't handle these. So to be sure, I always export 5.1 Monophonic - less possibility of error.

Good to know that the PT poly files are non AES standard. I will stick to mono files for each channel.
