From Macbook to Macbook Pro

To be more exact:
I have a Macbook (black) IntelCore2Duo 2.0 Ghz from early 2006. It works very good with both ProTools LE and Logic 8.
However, I thought about updating to a Macbook Pro.
While I am dreaming about the new 2.93 Ghz 17'', I found a second hand "old" (early 2008) Macbook Pro 2.5 Ghz. This one...:

I wonder if someone have some experience of working with both the Macbook (I have) and the Macbook Pro 2.5.
In this case, how is the boost in speed, etc...in reality...
Is it worth to buy it still?
How it works with Pro Tools (Logic) ?, etc...

I have a macbook pro. I don't know the specs of your computer or thie one in which you have interest, but I think that the MBP has a faster frontside bus which will make a difference. I think that it may also be able to take more RAM than your computer which is a plus as well. I have an intel dual 2.16 w/3gb of RAM and wish that my computer would take 4GB of ram. I record to and ESATA hd via my express slot and it works great.

I upgraded to the 2.4MBP from a 2.16 White Macbook.

The MBP is noticably faster, not life changing and certainly not worth a shed load of $$$. I got a good deal on the MBP because it was on blow out. Personally i find the screen real estate the biggest benefit.
