Beginner can't get a ProTools Icon on desktop

Ok, I'm a real beginner on a Mac - new G4

Tonight I added 128 MB RAM, added a 2nd Hard Drive (60 megs), Partioned the HD, put in the PCI card for Digi001 and installed everything!

Seems to all be working -- BUT I cannot get a ProTool icon to appear on my desktop! Is this some thing I'm missing in MAC How-to or does ProTools/Digi001 not WANT to have an icon?

The only way to get ProTools to open is to click on the one the Volume/HD icons and open a session??

go to the PT Icon, and select it.. then do Command-M to make an alias (or shortcut in Windows speak) , or pull down the file menu and select "make alias".. then you can drag that to the desktop...
