Re: Surround Panner and D-COMMAND?
That would be a 'no' - it only works with D-Control.

Re: Surround Panner and D-COMMAND?
What I'm pushing for with the Digi guys I know, is to have the capability to disable the rear L-R panner in the Pan Window (Opt-click maybe?). If that panner is deactivated, it would leave the front panner to handle the rear as well, giving you X-Y panning. Two panners, L-R and F-R, can be mapped to the two knobs on the D-Command. With X-Y panning, you can pan to any point in the surround field with just the two knobs. I have joysticks available on the large format console I use, but I hardly use them because I can switch the panners on the channel strips to X-Y, which makes it easier to do multiple panning tasks on each pass.
