Embedded rig settings

Hi folks!

I will try to explain how I record with my 11 and then you tell me how I'm not doing it right :)

I always do 2 tracks: one with the input set to 11 rig and the other to guitar in. The rig is stereo and the guitar in is dry mono. I tell 11 in user settings to embed the 11 rack settings into the stereo rig channel.

When I try to load settings the option simply isn't there but the the little e is on the track!

This has worked previously and has me slightly concerned I may have done something wrong.

Any ideas? Questions? Procrolamations of love?

How are you trying the load the rig? Right Click the track and choose 'Load Rig Setting'? What exact version of Pro Tools are you using (8.0, 8.0.1, 9.0.2 ect....)

I do believe 9.0.6 - essentially the latest 9.0.X version I do believe.

I used to be able to right click and the option to load rig settings was there :)

This happens to me as well sometimes. I will right click a recorded audio track in the edit window, but it won't list the 'Load Rig Setting'. So instead after clicking on the audio file, the related file will be hi-lighted in the Region/Clip Bin, then you can just right click that Region/Clip file and load the Guitar Rig setting from there.

If you know the name of the track with the embedded setting (which is easy to find out by looking at the name of the track) you can load the Rig setting from the Eleven Rack Window as well from the drop down where you choose a rig.

I've found that at times when I open the 11R editor window and go to user options>embed settings from, the selection has changed from where I had set it last time I used it.

And yet at other times, it seems to default to the setting that was last used...Eleven Rig L/R (my usual setting) ......... weird.

I too have had the problem of right clicking a region and having no 'Load Rig setting' option but I found out it was because I'd assumed/expected the user options>embed settings from choice I'd made previously would still be there when in fact it wasn't.

Now before I record, I always check the setting whether or not I see the 'E' on the 11R track.

Ya I've seen it switch too but I related that to different projects and the learning curve. I'll note it next time and look for anomolies,
