Eleven Rack & PT8: constant -6101 CPU Error Message
I can't even PLAYBACK 2 Tracks of Audio without getting the -6101 Error message, even if I remove all plugins from the folder, except the ones PT8 installed.
(iMac 2,4 GHZ, 2 GB RAM, PT 8.0.1, MAC OS X 10.5.8, Interface is ELEVEN RACK) And DIGI-Staff: no, it is definitely not an issue with the record drive and probably not with firewire 800 or 400 or Airport, or Bluetooth or whatever, it appears to be a software bug. In MY CASE it feels like it has something to do with 11r/USB/MAC OSX 10.5.8 My other system runs stable (IMac 2,16 GHZ, DIGI 002, PT 7.4.x, Mac OSX 10.4.x, Same Firewire Audio Drives...). Suggestions please! Or UPDATES! ANYTHING! |

Re: Eleven Rack & PT8: constant -6101 CPU Error Message
What PT version?
we're on 8.0.3 now but you should NOT get that one with the Eleven Rack. Repaired disk permissions lately? Time Machine off? Non essential peripherals disconnected? Eleven Rack plugged into the computer directly not a hub or to the keyboard?

Re: Eleven Rack & PT8: constant -6101 CPU Error Message
Yes, I repaired disc permissions, time machine is turned off, 11R is connected to a dedicated USB on the computer, only other thing conneted is a M-Audio Midi Interface, but even when I unplug this one and restart, no difference...maybe it is because the sessionwas created on another sastem with a differnet audio configuration...I have the impression that if I create a new session from an 11R template it runs more smoothly...but maybe it's just wishful thinking :-(

Re: Eleven Rack & PT8: constant -6101 CPU Error Message
Actually that seems to be very much the case: I opened a session created from a 11R template and it runs stable with a decent amount of plug-ins open, CPU-Load is FAR higher (about 40%) than in the unstable session (getting error-6101 message at CPU-load below 10%)...

Re: Eleven Rack & PT8: constant -6101 CPU Error Message
A previous thread suggested disabling Host Engine error suppression to alleviate -6101's. You can find this option in the Playback Engine, (Setup > Playback Engine > Host Engine). Even if you aren't using any bluetooth devices, sometimes having bluetooth enabled can cause -6101's. You'll want to make sure that's disabled in System Preferences as well.

Re: Eleven Rack & PT8: constant -6101 CPU Error Message
Did you figure it out yet Marvin?
I've got an 11 Rack as well with an Imac with an intel core due. I was having 6101 problems with the mbox2 before the 11 but not near as bad. If you have it figured out I would love to hear because I am getting super pissed at digi and their lame voodo suggestions. I've wasted so much time trouble shooting that I am ultra close to switching DAWS for good. |

Now, did you try disabling Host Error Supression? Have you done ANY of the other General Troubleshooting steps? If you need further assistance we're going to need more info on your system. Please see the Help Us Help You thread for details. FWIW - a VAST majority of issues posted on the DUC are solved by following the General Troubleshooting thread. It's gotten to the point that I'm creating a specific folder to track these so I can point out just how prevalent it is. |
