Exclamation PT10 editing playlists sluggish to degree of unusable

I had a first heavy vocal editing session in PT10 and using and editing playlists (selecting clips, changing solo's either on keyboard or GUI) was sooo sluggish and slow that I was way way slowed down in my work.

Please check if anyone is seeing the same?

I'm on PT10HD, Win7

Please, can someone with PT10(HD or not) check, if when you open up a playlist view on a track with many takes/playlists, and try to solo different playlists, or select a grabber (object) tool and try to select number of clips at the same time, do you also get a delay of sometimes a second or worst case much more before the function happens? I do also get playback delays of a second or more at times when trying to audition different playlists/clips when trying to comp vocals.

Right now this has tuned my workflow to become way slower than in PT9!

I have experienced the same problem on a recent session that had a lot of comps in the playlist It is PT 10 HD2 running in win 7 64 bit. I saved it and seems to be a bit quicker now, but still much more sluggish than pro tools 8 HD2 on things like soloing takes. Hope Avid fixes this one as it is a slow down in editing.

Are you trying to switch which playlist is solo'd while playback is going? I've always found that sluggish. But I just did a huge vocal session this past weekend on PT10 (non HD) and comping didn't seem any different speed wise than PT9.

I was not referring to switching solos while playing, just selecting different solos while transport was stopped.

I have made a short home video to show you how things sometimes look @ my end:

I must note this is not how things are at first when you fresh boot into system and start working, then all seems pretty ok, but over time things can get as bad as in the video. And it turns whacko only if playlist view gets turned on, in waveform view all is nice'n'dandy. Just look, 9mb file.

Just was doing some vocal tracking using playlists and noticed the same thing. Really choppy, sometimes have to click the solo button multiple times for Pro Tools to react.

I'm running PT10 non-HD on Win7 x64.

http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=313560 seen here to.

Seems to be a real problem. PT slows to a crawl with Playlists open

Anybody notice how the playlist comps also don't always line up to where they were actually recorded? Some of them are always like 8 bars later or so!

I use the spot function for this. I always noticed this in 9 as well. I can't remember 7 or 8 if they were like this. I notice that all the playlist files place where the playback marker is, not where they were recorded.
Of course this could be user error on my part.
