Workspace Unusable STILL

Deleting the pref file fixes it for awhile. I get clients from many different studios and basements. I use the workspace not only to audition files, but also to get the bit length and sampling rate for importing to a new session. They very rarely know what it is, and you cant create the Protools session till you know.
I have 2 studios and it happens in both. We did clean installs of both systems with no Help.
I am so frustrated because I can't even play a cd for an important client without the thing crashing.

I'm gonna post a MSG on this thread every couple of days to keep it in the top ten threads. I fear that we are all soo sick of these issues that eventually we give up complaining and Digi just figures everyone is happy... so here's post #2 of many to come......

I can't help but ask again - how did Workspace break with v8? It's instant death to any system. Is anyone here using 8 and the Workspace with out looping or crashing (yes, this happens to me with nothing other than a stereo mixer plug so stop with the plug-compato).

No funky converters. No funky plugs. No funky OS stuff. Everything is supposedly legit, from Digi's compato side.

no problems with my system in workspace, no loop crashing on auditioning files from disc or cd

I´m still on PPC, so perhaps it´s an Intel related issue ?

Nope. I'm on a PPC as well and it crashes reproducibly...

It actually works OK for me but I have to be honest, I use it very very little.

The only bug I get is that if you click a loop (sometimes) it will disappear into one of the neighboring folders.

Works fine for me but I'm on PPC.
I don't use it a lot.
I audition my sound library which is accessed by a catalogue created in the browser.
I have never had a crash using the WS browser. (I shouldn't have said that)

works fine here.....I actually enjoy using it. Sometimes it doesn't seem to get the tempo of loops right but other than that it works. I learned a lot about it from Kenny's videos.
