Default How to make MIDI Program Change work?

I'm trying here to make my Roland XP10 recieve program changes from PTLE6.9. It's defined as a Midi Divice and has all the right recieve parameters. But nothing happens. Why?

(I don't need patch names. The prg change is a midi event in the event list)

make sure in the MIDI menu that Program Change isn't turned off for the Input Filter.

Thanx, but I'm not trying to record prg changes, just make them play back. They're in the midi file. Tried checking the input filter box on and off anyway (you never know) but it didn't help.

Any more advice?

Are the Program Changes on the Program Change playlist?

Well... they're in the Midi Event List and viewable in the timeline arrange window too if I select prg change-view. Is that what you mean?
As far as I can see the prg changes are there, were and how they should be. But in a SMF GM-file, the overall GM-message makes the XP10 set all parts (midi channels) to patch 1 (piano) instead of automatically finding all the right sounds. And then when the Program Change messages come (on every single track) nothing happens. XP System Exclusive is On, MIDI Device nr is 17, and the corresponing boxes in the OSX Audio/Midi setup are checked. All midi notes and other events are playing alright.
What is it I am missing here?
(I normally avoid SMF-songs and GM, but I'm on a decent job where the client uses these... Help me out!)

Is it possible to be given an SMF-1 (which has each part on a separate track) instead of an SMF-0 ( which has all parts on one track)? That will let you decide which midi channel to use on each track.

I get separate midi tracks when I import the SMF:s into PTLE, so they seem to be in multiformat already. I then address each track to the different and appropriate XP10-recieve channels and everything is playing as it should, just not the program changes.

Problem solved. Deep inside the clients' XP10 was a parameter for "Tone Change". Silly. Sorry.
However, "GM-mode" i still not working, but never mind, I'll work that one out.

Thanks anyway!
