Default NEW G4 BOOTUP TRICK

HI EVERYONE
THIS MAY SOUND FUNNY, BUT DID THE TRICK.
YOU MAY HAVE TO TRY FEW TIMES TO GET THE HANG OF IT.
THIS IS REGARDING TO DIGI INIT PROBLEMS WITH THE NEW G4 DUAL PROCESSOR MODELS.
HERE IT GOES...
-DO ALL THE NECESSARY SETUP AS THE MANUALS SAYS.
-SHUT DOWN YOUR MAC
-TURN IT BACK ON MAKE SURE TO KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE METER(THE ONE THATS LOADING ON THE CENTER OF THE DIPLAY).
-YOU'LL SEE THE METER STOP LOADING FOR A MOMENT
-WHEN YOU SEE IT STARTS TO LOAD AGAIN,PRESS AND HOLD THE SPACE BAR FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS.(MAKE SURE TO DO THIS PRIOR TO THE DIGI INI ICON LOADS UP ON BOTTOM LEFT DISPLAY).
-MAC SHOULD BOOT UP NOW WITH THE DIGI INI
-THATS IT.
LOOKS LIKE SOMEKIND OF SECURITY BUG!?!

PRO TOOLS RAN NORMALLY BOOTING UP IN THIS WAY WITHOUT A PROBLEM. SO FAR...
TRY IT OUT. GOT NOTHING TO LOOSE

Didn't work for me. Could you be more specific about the meter load stop. There are a few during startup. Are you refering to the stop that is after the first extension has loaded? Or before any extensions?
Or before the background screen goes from grey to whatever your background colour is?

Cheers. Will try again.

Hmm, sure sounds weird, if I was programming it I would guess on a wild pointer.

But anything that works out is good ¨

Cheers,

hey. I tried it again and it worked. My optimism is up!

Will try a few more boots later and let you know if it's a solid idea.

Cheers for the heads up.

IT'S AFTER...

AFTER THE FIRST EXTENSION LOADS(YOU SHOULD SEE ONLY ONE ICON ON THE BOTTOM LEFT CORNER),YOU WILL SEE THE "METER BAR"(CENTER OF THE DISPLAY)TAKE A LITTLE PAUSE AND START LOADING AGAIN. THIS IS THE TIME YOU SHOOT THE TRICK BY HOLDING DOWN THE SPACE BAR.
LIKE I POSTED EARLIER,YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS FEW TIMES TO FIND THE RIGHT TIME TO PRESS/HOLD THE SPACE BAR.
IT WAS TESTED MANY TIMES WITH SUCCESS ON PRO TOOLS V.5.2.1 WITH THE NEW MIRRORED DUAL 1GHZ/G4 MODELS.
HOPE THIS HELPS. GOOD LUCK.

Have you tried forcing the Digi extensions to load earlier?

this is great news....if it works consistently. then maybe Digi can isolate it and fix it.

but how about this for a conspiracy:
maybe Apple didnt want Digi to work on the new Apples...they did just buy the competition remember??

maybe that explains the all of a sudden Vaio / Intel partnership too.

well I hope its not the case especially as i have been ready to buy one of those new, sexy mirror-door, sluts.....

mmmm.....new mac
