Default Re: Don't have to toggle Bluetooth to launch PT anymore!

Hi All,
well I have been using the Imac I5 and Protools 8.0.3 without any hangs!
There were 2 things that seemed to change the tide...

1- I hooked up My Eleven Rack and used it with the DIGI coreaudio driver with a few programs Live, and a couple of Native Instruments VI's and everything worked just fine.

2- I decided to try Protools again with the Eleven rack instead of the Mbox2 with which I had Zero Sucess... and to my surprise Protools loaded!!!

I have been working on a few test sessions and a real session with a few VI's and >20 tracks for now... No Problems at all!

Maybe the policeman inside of the UNIX environment woke up when the DIGI hardware was used for non digi, coreaudio apps!

Also now the Mbox2 also works fine with Protools... go figure!

I am very curious for anybody else that has the Imac I5 to try this and let us all know if this does it!

Thanks,
AL

Imac I5
4 gigs ram
OSX 10.6.2
Protools 8.0.3
Mbox2 or
Eleven Rack(so far)

p.s. and Strike is smokin' on this CPU's fast architecture!

I hope that a fix is around the corner soon!

Hi Joerusi,
if you were responding to my post on this subject I will say that yes it is usually true that disabling Bletooth, WIFI , and any other networking on your Macpro may help stabilize your system....

This thread seems is really more focused on a different computer, the new 27" Imac I5, FWIW.

I would also suggest that you try turning off firewire networking as this can also cause problems with a firewire based DAW I/O

Good Luck,
AL

Anyone know if using a wireless keyboard is possible with 8.0.3cs1? My wireless mouse works just fine but I'd like to add a wireless apple G5 keyboard as well.

The Bluetooth Toggle issue, only seems to affect certain new 27" iMacs.

We're still working with Apple on this - it's not clear at the moment where, exactly, the problem lies - with the hardware, the OS or Pro Tools. We hope to have more information shortly.
