Default Digi Tech Support

I'm having a very serious problem with my Pro Tools 7.4, and even the cs7.4.3 update. I was one of the first ones to buy 7.4 and up until a few days ago it worked perfectly. When I went to find my install so that I could uninstall, and then reinstall to see if I could fix it, I could not find it. I bought it online, so I don't have a hard copy. The problem I'm having is, that it won't read and load my Control24. I'm getting this message. Error trying to read controller's personality. What does that mean and how can it be fixed? And can I get a copy of the software that I've already paid for so that I can uninstall.

here's hoping to help you chill a bit;
since you're able to run pt, you obviously have it installed, which means you're uninstaller is in:
mac hd/applications/digidesign/pro tools/pro tools utilities.
then since you said you downloaded the installer, launch safari, pull down "window" then click "downloads"
(if you see pt click on the little magnifying glass)
or check safari prefs to see where you're downloads go to.
best o' luck

Hi Chill,

I heard the other day that the Control 24 personality wasn't getting installed in the controllers folder due to an oversight or something.

You just need a copy of the C|24 personality to drop into the proper folder -- then you should be good to go.

2nd: You can log onto your My Digi account and get your serial & a link to 're-download' your software you bought online (if necessary) -- so no worries.

Hope this helps

Walt

Yes, you can go to DigidesignStore, log into your account, it should be show all products you bought on line, click "View Order Details/Tracking Number" of the product you need and a page with the the sale info and with the links for the download appears.
