Initial Startup
Is it normal for pro tools to take serveral minutes to load for the first time after PC boot up? When the programs been loaded and opened, I can exit and reload pro tools way quicker. Same with opening up a instrument, it acts the same.. takes longer to load for the first time creating it, after I remove it and re-open the instrument it has a way faster response. Is this normal pro tools behavior?

Re: Initial Startup
I've recently noticed this too. PT start up on Win 7, after a reboot, is considerably longer than OS X. Not a big deal for me, but also interesting in knowing if that's just the way it is.
On my computers VI's take about the same time for initial opening on both platforms. |

Same for me.
I am guessing that somehow the Windows prefetch isn't working properly for Pro Tools. It really isn't a big problem for me but I am curious as to why this happens.
