Default PT 8LE Crashing

Hello. I have an 003 running PT 8LE on an old PowerMac G5 quad. I recently moved and previously everything worked perfect. Now when I fire up PT it crashes while loading the plug-in "Revers-DC Removal.dpm" when it's starting up. I've tried removing my ilok's to see if it would bypass the plug-ins while loading and it doesn't help. The error message I get is: "The application Pro Tools LE quit unexpectedly." I would try reinstalling it all but my disc set is in storage in my old studio and I am 1200 miles away so that's not an option. I need to get this up and running ASAP to finish out some client work and to start working on some personal material.

Hi,

You could try removing the DC-removal.dpm plugin from the plugins folder... MacHD>Library>Application Support>Digidesign>Plug-Ins. Then see if it boots without that plugin? If you're sure it is that specific plugin causing it not to boot.

Also all the other troubleshooting tips! Like trashing prefs etc, it's all in the troubleshooting thread...

I tried removing the plug-in and clearing the preferences and it still crashes upon loading.

Make sure you are following the exact directions to trash prefs and databases for your version of Pro Tools.

It may be the next plugin that is causing problems. See if you can guess what one that is. Or just remove all plugins from their folder and see if Pro Tools starts. Put them back in batches until you find a faulty one.

And of that does not work do an uninstall (with clean option) and reinstall of Pro Tools.

Pro Tools 8 LE installers are here ... http://secure.digidesign.com/service...rticleId=43353

Thanks for the links. What about the Music Production Toolkit addition?

The individual plugins are still likely available for download, did you try searching?. The rest is just an authorization mumbo jumbo on your iLok right?

If I reinstall PTLE8 and the 8.1CS is there a way to preserve my plug-ins? I don't have all my discs with all of my plug-ins and they are the ones I use the most along with some beta ones that I tested and would never be able to get again.
