Default How to install PT9 and MPTK 2 from PT8 LE?

I installed PT9 new on my Home PC (Win XP SP3) and it works just fine with the iLok.
In my studio i have PT 8 LE with digi 003 rack and the MPTK 2 installed.

So I tried the MPTK 2 installer on PT 9 i get the following message:

"This installer cannot locate a valid installation of Pro Tools LE or M-Powered on this system. Please install Pro Tools LE or M-Powered 8.0 and rerun this installer..."

So does this mean I have to install PT 8 LE, the MPTK 2 and then use the PT 9 upgrade installer? Or does this not work at all?

PT 9 does not include Hybrid, Structure, Eleven LE, Smack LE and TL Space so it would be great i I could use the Music Production Toolkit 2 with PT 9 at home!

Any help????

Cant you download separate installers for these plugins and install them one by one?

The only one you can't do that with is Structure LE, as it's only available in the full MPTK 2 installer...which loads the track expander/beat detective by default.

Wondering the same thing. If I can't use The Plug-ins from the Music Production Toolkit 2, then PT 9 is not worth the upgrade right now. That is a lot of cash down the tubes if it does not work with PT 9. Also, is there a list of included plug-ins for PT 9? Is it just the same as PT 8? Thanks!

There is no MPTK installer for PT9... there is only one install: "Pro Tools 9"

The CPTK iLok asset will unlock the additional features.

Install your plugins separately... you should find installers on the Avid website

Here is what I did.

I simply went back to a clone of my PT8 drive and grabbed the RSR, DPM and plug-in settings files/folders and pasted them into the PT9 plug-ins folder. Then after opening a session I pointed the VIs to the content on the sample drive. All is well.

ok so if I will try to copy the files from the plugin folder and try.
I found a separate installer for eleven le and it worked - so this seems to be a good workaround :)

thx for the help

So exactly what features from the MPTK or MPTK 2 are functional in PT9? I plan on doing a full install being that I've seen people talk about some issues with the updater. I personally upgraded from MPTK to MPTK2 - Because it would suck if we lost the MP3 Option with nothing else but a upgrade to CPTK2 to supplement us MPTK2 owners. can anyone clarify this?

Thanks!
