Issues with Digi 003 drivers

Hello hello,

I'm using the Digi 003 on Vista with the Pro Tools 8.0.1. I used to be able to use the ASIO driver for Ableton Live. Recently, Live crashes before it even starts up.

Right now, I have Live 8 installed and when I try to open it, it says "Live's last program run was abnormally aborted while trying to open the MIDI port 'Digidesign 003 port 1.' The MIDI port will longer be activated upon startup. In order to reactive this port, please use the Active Ports list in the MIDI/Sync Preferences." Then after I click "OK" I get a Windows message saying "Live 8.0.1 has stopped working" and it forces me to close the program.

I've tried installing older version of Live, and uninstalling Pro Tools and it's drivers then reinstalling, but with no luck. Sometimes the error message from Live is different yet similar, but Windows always says the program has stopped working.

Any ideas? Since Ableton USED to work I wonder if something I've done it Pro Tools is preventing the program from working. This is my first post but this forum has been endlessly helpful for a long time. Thanks a lot.

Can you right-click on Live and choose 'run as administrator' and let us know if that solves the problem?

Yeah, tried that too, still the same thing.

Ableton and other third party programs work with my computer's sound card when Pro Tools is uninstalled. Is there an update for the ASIO driver? Please help, DigiTech.

Since installing 8.0.3, my MIDI setup is not working. "Digidesign 003 port 1" has apparently disappeared.

There are problems with this version (perhaps previous versions as well...) and an official response from Digi would be appreciated.
