Re: move multiple faders at once without having to group them first
Group them and/or use a VCA.

Re: move multiple faders at once without having to group them first
It would certainly be great if the temporary group workflow that is available in some other DAW's was available in Protools.
I've just tried a setup that seems to work quite well for now. Set up a group called TEMP and put it at the bottom of your group list. Any time that you want to set up a quick and temporary group, select the tracks that you want, right click on the temp group name and hit replace in the group dialog. It's far from perfect and a bit clunky but it does work. Last edited by Macsearcher; 01-08-2019 at 02:09 PM. |

No, look at the video, I think you still did not understand it. Take your time.

Re: move multiple faders at once without having to group them first
To bring this thread to a conclusion, Pro Tools can't do temporal grouping. Let's hope that this essential feature will be implemented soon.

This. And if you make a macro to make all your keyboard strokes and mouse moves it can be done even quicker. Just select your tracks, hit your predefined keyboard shortcut and boom, you got your self a new temp group.

Re: move multiple faders at once without having to group them first
For any PT users out there who would like a "temporary group" feature, I've made a Mac Service called "Groups" that will automate the "Replace" feature when modifying groups.
When implemented, simply select the tracks you'd like temporarily grouped together and run the Service in the Services menu of the Pro Tools Application. Alternatively, you can make a keyboard shortcut for the service using the the Mac System Preferences-->Keyboard-->Shortcuts tab. The "Groups" service will be in list towards the bottom under "General" See attached screen shot The file can be found here...https://www.dropbox.com/s/cl6w0p3xut...kflow.zip?dl=0 simply unzip the file and put it in the folder "Macintosh HD">Users>"username">Library>Services (replace "username" with your computer account login) Restart the computer and the service will show up when you launch Pro Tools Obviously, this isn't a perfect solution but it is a quick workaround for creating temporary groups. One thing to keep in mind is the "Modify Groups" shortcut only works on the first group created in the session. Therefore, to make sure it doesn't change other groups in your session, make a "Temp Group" first in your session or template. Good luck. Hope this works for you |
