Default Punch In with Foot

Did a session recently. Studio was using Cubase. Anyway, they were punching in with a foot pedal and it was clear that it was an efficient option.

Is there a way to do that with Pro Tools 11?

Yes but it depends on what they had that foot pedal connected to to do that. It probably went to a control surface of some kind. One I know of that has a foot pedal connection is the Presonus Faderport. It's a small 1 fader control surface that has a connection for a foot pedal. So you'd need that and a separate foot switch. There may be other solutions out there.

Hey Fezzler,
An Artist Control with Eucon (3.2.2 running here...) supports that functionality.

You can also put your computer keyboard on the floor, take off your shoes, and punch using the F12 key.

I also use a Faderport. Just remember to hit the SHIFT button(on the Faderport) or the foot switch will start/stop playback

Punch in with foot isn't a function of the daw software; you need hardware to do it.
