Ethernet card not found - Win XP
I have recently purchased an HD3 system with a C-24, and am running it under Win XP. All is well until I try to set up the Ethernet controller. I then get a message saying that PT can't find my ethernet controller. I know the card is installed correctly as far as Win XP is concerned, as it works fine when connected to my laptop. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the NIC to no avail.
Any ideas? PS the actual error message says it could not find the Ethernet DRIVER... so I also tried uninstalling the NIC, and then forcing XP to use Diginet.inf and Diginet.sys as the driver, I then get a message that the specified file doesn't contain info about my hardware (D-Link ethernet adapter) Problem sorted out thanks to Paul at Digidesign |

Hi,
exactly HOW was the problem solved? I'm curious to know since I also have a D-Link NIC. Regards, John

Re: Ethernet card not found - Win XP
I had this same problem and Digi emailed me an updated Diginet.sys file. (newer than version on the 5.1.1 CD I had anyway) That solved the issue.
Contact Digi Tech Supt, they can email you the file. I hope this helps.

Re: Ethernet card not found - Win XP
Hello,
Got a bit further than this but not much. - Ethernet card detected, diginet files manually installed as protocol for local network which allows PT8 Vista to detect the Pro Control. - PC set as unit 1, "Offline" display disappears on Procontrol but when I click OK to exit the Dialog I get an Error -199 message (no text, just the error ID, very small dialog) preventing me from quitting the peripheral config window. Only way out is to disable the PC in dialog, but that means PC is Offline again.. back to the start.. Any ideas ? I used the diginet files present in the driver directory of my fresh PT 8 install.. Maybe I need updated files? delete and reinstall protocol files? Does a cs for PT 8 Win solve this? If there's a new version of these files I'd like to get them too. Many thanks for your help, looking fw to using my PC. Danton |
