Default chrometone?

Anyone have an opinion they'd like to share about chrometone? It's half the price of GTR, and Im just not totally into giving waves any more money right now.....for fear of having to give them more in the future....i've already got renmaxx and SSL, and thats enough for me right now

I love ChromeTone. Very different than the Waves GTR. It's got a unique color, and works really well for distorted vocal effects. Try the demo.

As usual, I'm with STeve here. I LOVE it. It's great for a lot more than guitar stuff as you might imagine and the company "McDsp" is a great one. Colin, who is the developer there is the coolest and he makes great stuff. I also use their EQs a lot and a few other things or theirs. I have many amp simluators as well as several great tube guitar amps, and Chrome Tone is the bomb! It doesn't replace my other stuff, but it's got it's own personality.

If you get it, check out the midi applications and articles on their site. there is some great instruction and info there. Plus the wah and othr FX are really cool too. Like Steve says, try it on vocals. I do a ton of A Capella work and it comes in really handy for that. I use it to emulate guitar vibes mixed with the vocal trax. Check out "Hookslide's" CD. They are a four piece A Capella group, and there's a lot of Chrome Tone in their background vocal tracks. I can't take credit for the fine work on that CD sadly though. My friend is the engineer on that, but it's a stellar example of how great this plug-in can work. I think it's Hook-slide.com. Tell'em Scott G. sent ya! they are pretty amazing, albeit off the subject a bit. Sorry.

Its Very good! also check out Waves GTR..... both make great tones.

Always try the demo's first to see if they fit your style.

Another vote for Chrometone. Love it and McDSP!

It gave me a great sound for a NIN remix I did here.

Couldn't get the same guitar FX with AmpFarm since it doesn't have effects pedals.

Another great tool to add to your studio for a great cost.
