Default Audiomedia III advice, please...

This is my second attempt at a response on the DUC. Surely some kind soul can help me...

I am purchasing a used AM3 for my PM9600. I have a large TDM 24 Mix Plus system which used to live in this computer. I want to get it up and running with some form of Pro Tools on the AM3. I understand that PTFree for Mac won't work with the AM3. I have a beta version of LE 5.? which says it's for TDM. Will any of my Pro Tools software work with the AM3? I have 5.0, 5.1 and 5.1.1. (TDM). Advice sought ASAP. Thanks!
Shaun

An earlier version of Pro Tools TDM software (I believe 5.0 or 5.0.1) included a special beta version of PT LE that could be used with MIX hardware to prepare and test LE sessions on the MIX hardware for later use on LE systems. I don't remember that it would also work on LE hardware. It was tied to the TDM hardware and keyed off of the TDM Pro Tools authorization for the MIX system.

If your Audiomedia III did not come with Pro Tools (as it did in the ToolBox systems), then you don't have a Pro Tools license for the AMII.

You have a couple of ways you could go...
1 - Purchase the Pro Tools LE 5.1.1 upgrade for $50, which will run on your 9600. This essentially turns it into a ToolBox system.
2 - Wait and purchase the Pro Tools 6 for Mac OS X upgrade for $75, but that will not run on a 9600.

Your best option would probably be the $50 purchase, which will give you the last version of Pro Tools LE qualified to run on the 9600.
