Default recording at half speed

now u can play back at different speeds with ctrl - 1 ctrl - 2 all the way up to 9, but if i like how that deep slow sound works how do i record what im hearing,

i can route that channel to a channel to record but theres no way to record and play live that ctrl - 1 or 2 or 3

what am i doing wrong?
