..so I found my mistake, and yes, I am a little ashamed. Replying in case it happens to somebody else.
In the MIDI Filters menu i had ticked All except (attaching a screenshot). I think I remember when I did that while not properly reading what it said (I thought it said "record the following". Changed it to All and now it's working!
