Spectrasonics TRILOGY
Hi,
I've read the thread detailing Spectrasonics Trilogy bass plug-in causing heaps of problems in pro tools. If they've been fixed, I'd like to know. If not, can someone recommend a virtual bass plug-in? thanks |

Re: Spectrasonics TRILOGY
I reccommend a real bass guitar played by an actual musician in "real time", there's really nothing quite like it

Re: Spectrasonics TRILOGY
I'd be interested to hear feedback, as well. Is the problem with Trilogy specifically PC/Macs? What about just PC or Just Mac set ups?
Some of us like to write and play sloppy bass lines that we can fix in midi...plus I'm sure we can all agree that it's nice not dealing with a real bass player |

Re: Spectrasonics TRILOGY
The problem is that there isn't a real solution for it on Intel Mac. The 'wrapper' they have for it is completely unusable, IMO.
Can't speak specifically about PC's - maybe someone else can. As for a replacement - I wish I knew of something that held it's own against it. Currently most people seem to be dividing the task between several different plug-ins, all with mixed reviews. |

Well, it is popular music after all, so a bass plug-in is fine. I'll leave the perfection to the real musicians (classical). |

Re: Spectrasonics TRILOGY
I'm a hobbyist musician with a hobby home studio. A real studio bassist would throw the whole thing out of whack. There would actually be talent involved
Here are the options I've seen so far: Trilogy Basis by Vir2 (comes with kontact player for it) Chris Hein (needs kontact) ManyBass by Manytone (the cheapest) Scarbee Red or Black Bass (looks good but found little on it) Any comments? Any others? What sounds good/bad? **How easy or hard are they to get a good sounding bass line? From what I've read, Trilogy sounds pretty easy and intuitive and much of it is automatic unless you feel the need to tweak on your own which is also possible. Personally, I'm more interested in electric bass for pop and rock. Definitely don't care about synth bass (other vst's do that) and uprights would be cool but used less often. Also, feedback on how well they work for specific systems. (PC for me but "Friend" might be on another system) |
