Need help installing Pro Tools LE 7.3 on Mac

ok i think i have installed and registered my 003 rack right and installed pro tools on my Mac right.... but when i double click the pro tools icon from the dock it will start to load then stop. a window on my computer will pop up and say "pro tools has quit unexpectedly. would you like to relaunch?"

has this happened to anyone else?... is it just a step that ive missed when installing it?

What Mac are you running and what's the version of PT you are trying to install?

it i a brand new imac computer without a tower... and it is Pro Tools 7.3

If it's a new iMac, then it probably shipped with Mac OS 10.5.4 (leopard).In which case you need to upgrade to PT 7.4.2.

thanks... i called digidesign and they talked me through downloading the new version

but now i have a different problem. when i try and open the new version of pro tools it just freezes. my whole computer does not freeze though. just the loading window for pro tools

any suggestion on that?

Information, information and more information.

For instance, at which point does it stop loading? While doing plug-ins? Which plug-ins?

Have you checked for incompatible plug-ins?

When people ask for more information, it would help to specify the computer, operating system, RAM, Pro Tools version, model of external hard drive, etc.....
