ProTools 12.8.0 Crashes When Committing Tracks

9 times out of 10 when I attempt to commit tracks (ranging from 1 track to 5 tracks at a time), I get Apple's perpetual spinning pinwheel and have to close ProTools. Anyone ever had this issue? If so, please let me know how you fixed it.

Computer: 2011 iMac
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Processor: 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
OS: Mac OSSierra Version 10.12.6
DAW: ProTools 12.8.0
Audio Interface: Mbox Pro 3
*All ProTools session files stored on Glyph 500 GB external hard drives; plugin sound libraries stored on other external hard drives.

Is HEAT on?

Same thing here in PT 12.8.1. Turning off HEAT does work, but I wouldn't call that true commitment. The best workaround until this is fixed is to just do it in real time...in other words uncheck "offline".
