Please Read...
Hey folks,
I have received a project that was started on a Roland VS-880. The one that takes 250MB Zip disks. Is there ANY way at all to convert these files to ones usable by Pro Tools? The extensions are .vs1 and .vr8 Is there any way to do this short of locating a VS-880? The person who tracked these sessions is no longer around and I have no way of getting hold of one of these machines. Thanks very much, Tony

Unfortunately I don't think there is a way short of having a VS-880 in your posession.
I have a VS-840 and had to transfer the tracks 2 at a time through the SPDIF port. I beleive there was some sort of V-software that you could install on your computer and do some sort of editing, but again I think this required the VS-XXX to be present. Ostrich99

Re: Please Read...
To the best of my knowledge there is no way to "convert" those formats. I know stated that you do not have access to a vs880. Where do you live? You can find them for cheap in pawn shops and on ebay. Roland left VS users high and dry on the VS products. The CD-R option was very expensive and OS updates improved very little. Maybe you can go down to your local Guitar Center and do a transfer. I am sure the guys that work in the pro audio dept. would be awed and very impressed when you go and set up their equipment for them. Good luck.

I do not know if it will do it, but do a search for AWAVE STUDIO 8.5 it will convert about 200 different formats.
