Default Mbox2 Mini Problem

I am getting the following message "The current playback engine does not support a sample rate of 48khz" when I try to open an older file. When I try to create a new file with anything other than 44.1 khz, it does not let me and is greyed out. I have reloaded the latest mbox2 Mini drivers. I have gone the the Control Panel -> Sound. Highlight your Mbox and click properties. Go to the "Advanced" tab Uncheck both the "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" and "Give exclusive mode applications priority" boxes. But this still does not work...
I run windows 7 64 bit, Intel Core i7 2600k @3.4ghz , 8 gigs of Ram

Good Morning,

To be honest there isn't much of a difference from 44.1Khz - 48Khz. The normal human ear can't tell the difference. But here is another thread that may answer you're question:

I realize that but that is not the problem. The problem is that the OPTION for anything other than 44.1 kHz is not available. When I start a new project, the option is not there.
Furthermore, when I open one of my old files, which I didn't even record at 48kHz, I get the message "The current playback engine does not support a sample rate of 48khz". I think there is a bug with windows 7 and Pro Tools Le 8.0.5..
