Stereo Mixdown on AudioVision menu

If you click the AudioVision menu and hold down shift and ctrl the "pull down audio tracks" turns to "Stereo Mixdown". Does anyone know where this stereo mixdown occurs? Surely it has nothing to do with the Track Bounce Tool. Does it affect the Bounce Selection(cmd-B) or the Bounce Track(Option-B)?
