Default MJ - Help Again

I have digitized video and audio playback back from my Protools with AV Option. I finish my post-production and now head to dump the Audio onto the Beta machine.

When I put the Transport into machine mode, arm my Record tracks and start to dump -- THE VIDEO PLAYS VERY JERKY. WHY ??

Why can't i see a clear picture off the Beta machine when i am dumping back to tape???

Is it only the picture that is jerky or is the audio and Pro Tools timeline jerky as well?

Try taking the picture offline temporarily to see if the problem continues without picture.

If it does it could be several things:
- timecode loop or timecode mis-configuration. Check all of your settings to make sure that the correct devices are sending and receiving timecode.

- try unchecking the "Use Serial Time Code for Positional reference" in the Peripherals window/ Machine Control tab.
If there is timecode coming to the USD and down the serial 9-pin cable at the same time you could experience this.

If you are monitoring the Beta deck's output it will not be in sync(ref) while the audiotracks are record-enabeled.The frame starts to roll slowly and you can actually see the TC bits in between the frames.

This is what happens at my place. Why I'm not sure of; I'm no betaexpert.
