Default jammed up install of Pro-52 on Mac G4

After the serial number was entered, the instructions call for "after you have entered the serial number, you have to point the software to the (still inserted) installation CD as well as to the mystery file."

Well, I pointed at it and I even yelled at it but nothing happened! What do they mean?

How does one "point" software at a CD never mind a mystery file?

Welcome to the wacky world of NI products. You'll be lucky if this is the worst of it.

I don't recall the installation process in detail, but pointing to something generally means navigating through your file structure in a dialog box to find the designated volume/folder/file, like when you open a session from within Pro Tools and have to search for its location. But from the sound of it, that wasn't an option. What actually happened after you entered the serial number and hit OK or whatever was required to enter it?

After installing the ProTools Edition for NI's B4 and Pro-52 each program will prompt you to find (point out) certain files when you first instantiate them. The B4 needs to find the Tonewheel and default patch list. The Pro-52 needs to find the mystery file an default patch list. These are located in the usual places - subdirectories of the folder to which you installed.
