Default Pro Tools 2018 crashes w/ clip sliding

Hello everyone,

I just upgraded from Pro Tools 10 to the latest 2018. I'm having consistent crashes now in 2018 every time I try to slide audio clips side to side along the timeline, OR, anytime I try to put a fade on the edge of an audio clip, OR, anytime I try to drag an audio track up or down to a different location. It's incredibly frustrating and I'm not sure what to do. Any ideas what's causing this? Please help! Thnx.

Wow that sounds bizarre - haven't personally heard this one yet.

Are you working out of an old session from PT10? Maybe do a Save Copy In of the whole session and tick the box to copy all audio. Then try working out of the new copy and see if you have the same problem.

I tried what you suggested and sadly nothing has changed. Seemed like a smart idea. And yes, they are old Pro Tools 10 files. Thanks for the help anyhow.

I see you are running Mavericks. Mavericks isn’t supported with 2018.1 Upgrade to El Capitain or higher. Also trash your preferences and run disk utility/first aid on your drives. Sounds like ProTools is having trouble writing its background/undo files.

Man... I feel like a real numb skull for not noticing that 2018 wasn't compatible with Mavericks. I'm upgrading to High Sierra now. Thank you for that. I'll let you know how it goes. Gratitude...
