How do I start my Boss Dr-880 from digi 002

Hey there... twice in the past I've been able to trigger my Boss Dr-880 drum machine from pro tools when i hit play/rec. Both times were an exercise in frustration. It was trial and error until i stumbled upon the correct settings. Now I can't get it to do it again, and would LOVE to know how to set it up correctly and quickly. This is a serious inspiration buzzkill.

I have the drum machine set correctly to be triggered by an outside source

Midi cable routed from Digi 002 midi out 1 to midi in on Dr-880

Midi lights aren't lit on front of digi 002

Midi beat clock doesn't show dr-880 in the list (don't know if it needs to be there)

I'd be happy to answer any questions about my set up, not really sure what else to list as I'm unsure about which info would be relevant.

I'm not at my studio, but there is a setting in PT you have to make to have it send clock signals to the midi out - that should do it.

Can you tell me where I can find that setting? I've looked but can't find it...

Under the Midi menu - Midi Beat Clock. Check the boxes for you the OO2 midi port 1

I don't have OO2 midi port 1 as an option under Midi beat clock. I've got:

Microsoft GS wavetable SW synth (Emulated)
Microsoft MIDI Mapper (Emulated)

& those are the only two options. I've tried it with each combination of those checked & unchecked with no luck.

OK... I got it

I had to go into the windows control panel and choose the digidesign ports as my midi output devices before they would show up in the midi beat clock menu.
