Default 002R line/mic problem

Hi,
I have an 002R. I've been recording with mics on mic1 and 2. Now I want to add mics to mic 3 and 4, but when I go to add a track it only lets me add mics on 1 and 2. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Marc

Go to your i/o setups dialog inside pro-tools.

under each Tab (input, output, insert, bus) click the "Default" button, move to the next tab... hit "Default" etc... until you have defaulted all 4 tabs.

then click OK

voila.

How are you "adding mics"? You've termed that interestingly...

I would guess you're trying to use channels 1-4 on your 002rack (with the preamps).

Have you created 4 tracks in your session and assigned the input of each track like this:

track 1 = Input 1 (you do this in the I/O section within the session, not on the 002)

Track 2 = Input 2

Track 3 = Input 3

Track 4 = Input 4

Have you checked they're all on mic, not line (if you're using XLRs)?
Are they all in record?
Do you have more than 32 channels active in the session?

King,
Thank you, thank you. I've scouring the manual all day looking for just that.
