It's hard not to be bitter about it. Seems they've got nothing left so the most they can offer is 3rd party bloat. They can't get the audio engine running as good as other DAWs (like Reaper, for example). No "control room" mechanism for implementing room correction software. I mean, they can't even keep mp3 import working consistently. But they want us to keep paying for yearly updates while communicating nothing that's coming soon. No accountability. Not sure how much longer I can justify renewing the support plan. Avid and UA are the two audio companies with the most customer-punitive policies, and I'm finding it really hard to keep supporting them.

That's because of Windows, not Avid. Or perhaps Avid is there to blame, because they opened PT up for Windows.

Just a joke, I may add. But still PT is developed Mac-first. I have had +20 years of Windowsfree life and that is all I have to say about Windows.

Working MIDI would be a plus.

Quite the announcement: Our MIDI now works!

Updated AIR instruments would be nice, like being able to import samples into BOOM, but that would be up to the AIR team I guess, good luck with that..

Is it me or are AIR instruments a little outdated to be AVID's cutting edge included gems? In 2013. Oh wait, 2023.

Sorry, in Debbie Downer mode today! Or Devin Downer I guess hehe

Native will undoubtedly be a focus this year, though they seem to have a good start on that already -- now it's up to plugin developers to provide Native AAX. I'll follow the thread for possible rumors but don't expect to see much.
Me either. That is not really the focus here in my opinion. I have more interest in functionality, which I believe is Avid's focus right now that things are getting back to some normalcy.

There’s a PTE podcast where they had a couple of AVID employees on. They talked a little bit about forthcoming stuff.

Of note was the scripting SDK and also mention of improvements for composers/musicians. They mentioned they knew they were lagging in that department so one assumes some improvements to the MIDI side of things.

Fingers crossed.

Mine was up in November I to have a reinstatement that I’m just leaving on the table till they get their act together… Which might be in the next two years… Honestly I don’t know where this company is at they have no problem hosing up peoples annual “fees“ and delivering little to nothing… And I know the people here will say if you have problems there’s something wrong with your plug-ins or computer etc. etc.… I’m not so sure about that since I have other DAW which cruise along just fine
I know everyone loves to point at third party plug-ins but yesterday importing session data even when it’s checked it does not import the tempo. Which was a bit of surprised to hear when it came back I had to go back to session data import session tempo as a separate import and then it worked… Is that a plug-ins fault?

Oh and if it wants to perport to be a Composer friendly update perhaps they would make it easier if in the middle of just playing a simple piano virtual instrument it didn’t go fizzle and then error message on the screen with nothing in the session… Really Protools?
Such a piece of junk

I would tend to agree with you. The fact that most need to trash prefs on a fairly consistent basis and/or figure out which plugin (designed to fit Avid's AAX format/SDK) is for some reason slowing the session down is crazy.
