Default setting up

i have just started with pro tools. how do i get pt to see my presonus fp10. i have gotten a firmware update for fp10, does that need to run first or am i missing something else? also, i will be soon switching to the presonus studio/live 16.4.2, will i have the same issue with that? i would like to be able to just get running when i add the 16 4 2...any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks

Well...Welcome to Pro tools and the DUC, brfdrums.

There are a few things you're going to learn before you get started. Judging by the information you've provided; I'm guessing you didn't read the "Help us Help You - READ THIS Before Posting" - http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=300050

This will also lead me to believe that you haven't read the 'reference manual' included with Pro Tools. It may be over 1000 pages, but it is very well written and will save you from being eaten alive. Pro Tools is not Plug and Play.

For the quick fix. Got to Playback Engine.

Good luck and the reference manual can be found from the Help menu, and as a link at the top of the 'getting started' forum.

You might consider posting a Sandra report too as your issues could be as simple as an incompatible FW controller.
