Default Connecting Digi003R to Mackie 802VLZ3

Folks, I would like some direction on the proper way to make this connection. I have the original 003R and just purchased my Mackie 802VLZ3 – I don't want to use the MicPre's of the Mackie, since my 003R has a BLA Mod, but I need to get the output of my Digi to the Mackie.....

Thanks so much for your time!

Brian

1/4" TRS from Main L/R Outputs on the 003 to Line In 5-6 or 7-8 on the Mackie would be my guess but what are you trying to do?

Thanks for the reply!

The Main L/R Outs on my Digi are being used to send audio to my studio monitors, but I could change that if it would be best. My final goal is this: Use my Mackie 802 to create a Mix-Minus....I am using the 802 to connect into my phone hybrid (phone patch) unit. I'm just having no success get audio out of my Digi and into the Mackie...I think I have the rest figured out!

If you use the Monitor Outs on the 003 then you can utilize the monitor volume and mute knobs on your 003. At the same time free up the outs to send to your mackie.

Boy, guys DON'T SHOOT ME! Hope I don't frustrate you here. I currently use the Monitor Level knob/Mute on the 003 with monitors being feed from the Main L/R Outs. So, would I be understanding correctly by using the ALT L/R to feed my Monitors and the Main L/R to send a feed to my Mackie 802?

The ALT outputs cannot be used at the same time as the Main Outs. You can use Analog outs 1 and 2 to go to the Mackie and that mirrors your Main Outs.

However, since it seems like you're trying to send your full mix except for the incoming phone signal (correct me if I'm wrong), you should use Analog Outs 3 and 4 to send to your mixer. Create a stereo Aux Input in PT and set the input to an available Bus (for example Bus 1/2) and the output to Output 3/4. Then on each track, except the incoming call, send out the Bus with the send level at unity and make sure it's set to post fader.

I then assume you're sending the output of the Mackie to your phone unit. Is this what you were looking for?
