no midi activity

Hi, I have my midi keyboard(out) plugged into my Digi002(midi in) and when I open a midi track (setting my input to ALL which is all that PT allows me to select)I can't see any activity comming in even though I can see some on the Digi002(the light is flickering...). In the manual they talk about changing the midi devices for the Mac but nothing for the PC users...

I'm with Windows XP... Any Ideas???

Did you arm (record-enable) the MIDI track?

Yes I did... but no luck...

You've set the MIDI input to ALL, but do the 002 MIDI ports appear as available input devices? If they don't show up, ALL won't get them, either.

The 002 midi ports are not available... I just have ALL

Upgrade to 6.1.1 or 6.4 and your midi ports should appear. Pre 6.1.1, The MMEREFRESH file in the Digidesign folder is designed to activate the ports in Windows. Double click the file - wait 1/2 second as thats all it takes and your ports should be available.

Set Midi to ALL, set Midi Thru in PT, rec enable the track. Play some notes and the midi meter should bounce around. Let me know.

Midi is set to ALL on my track, midi thru is on, still when I play notes on my keyboard I have no responce on the track's midi meter. I can see the green light (midi in) flash on the 002 though...

...and you rec enabled thr track ( as you said earlier). hmmm...Do you have another midi interface to use as a test?

Also - check in Control Panel - Audio - midi music playback and make sure that the Digi is not selected as the default. If it is, some other app could be stealing your Digi midi port and not letting PT access it. Try a hard reboot and start PT right away and see if it takes the Digi ports before something else.
