Default Basic Maneuvering Question

Hey all. Not a beginner, but somewhat of a beginner question. I frequently use markers during editing. After tabbing to a marker in the marker area, is there a quick way to transfer the cursor from the marker to a track for editing? I know I can use ; to move down to the desired track, but in a big session that can be unwieldy and seems really silly. There must be something simple I've been unable to figure out. Any help appreciated

Click the track name, or even better : Start Shift click the track name in the track list (puts the track on top).

Hmm, not working here. The cursor stays at the marker and doesn't move to the selected track. What am I missing?

That was it! I figured it had to be something pretty simple, but for my editing workflow I rarely have that checked. Unfortunately there's no key command to toggle it, but even with the extra click this will still be a major time saver for me. Thanks much!

That is for "Link Timeline and Edit selection".
With a scripting programm like Autohotkey or Mac keyboard preferences, it is possible to recall "Options > Link Track and Edit Selection" with a self-defined shortcut.

The correct entry is : "Options->Link Track and Edit Selection" ("->" for sub-menu)

Ok, I quoted/copied that from the Ref Guide ; nevertheless, for Autohotkey it would be :
"WinMenuSelectItem, Pro Tools, , Options, Link Track and Edit Selection"

It's so weird that, with the gazillion key commands Avid has created, that they would leave off common functions like this and the opening of the color palette window. I can understand oversights as the program is evolving, but these have been around forever.
