Default This weeks tech article: Computer Security...

Hey everybody, this weeks artical is about how we can make are computers more secure. read on to find out how...

Lets start off with which Operating Systems are more secure. Well obviously we all know that Windows XP is what Microsoft is pushing, and it is the best OS they have ever done, however we must be aware of a few things that can leave our computers exposed to prying eyes or haxors. One of the easiest ways to get into someones computer is to expose NETBIOS and NETBUI protocols. There are programs that can that let haxors randomly search IP address's and map your drive to their computer, from here on they can change or delete anything they want. Pretty scary huh? Well there are few things you can do, first of all don't run these crappy protocols, secondly purchase a hardware based firewall this completely shuts off all ports on your computer from haxors. Secondly for those that have their computers on a network and have file sharing enable, make sure to pasasword your drives because if their not haxors will also be able to access them. Now on to more complicated things: haxors can also run scripts on your computer that basically allows them to execute malicious code and take cotrol of your computer, by purchasing a reliuable anti-virus program such as Norton, you can block scripts from running on your computer period.

Well thats it for now, see you next time...

Well there are hackers, and haxors. Hackers are normally just misifts that don't do any damage and are just curious about things and what they can do. Haxors, on the other hand, cause significant damage and are the ones responsible for deleting stuff of your hard drive and running scripts on your computer.
