pro tools used up 82 byte keys? what is this?

this thing is a crashy wreck...it must be the soft synths or the gobs of plugs but what a voodoo mystery that it crashes while just sitting there doing nothing...midi drops out of contact with interfaces and all kinds of weird behavior. i am new to this i admit and the system that i use is owned by a friend who doesn't like to get into too many tweaks and i don't blame him...but i am willing to do it for him since i am a bit of a tech tweaker a heart. is there a definitive list of the proper troubleshooting steps that assure no drive permission or core audio miscues?

that error has something to do with USB midi. DO a search in the LE forums. Many of us had problems in 6.1, but most have been cleared up with 6.4 and some tweaking.
