Default Volume set to transfer????

Hey all, Im getting a box when I try to open a session in pt7.2 that says: "This session is saved on a volume set to transfer" If permitted, set the volumes in question to "P" (Playback) or "R" (record) in the workspace. I've always used this hard drive for all my sessions and it just stopped working and gave me this. Can you help? I have so many sessions on this hard drive. Thanks

Have you followed the instructions from the error box? If nothing has changed on your system (ie. new OS, new PT version, etc.), then you should be able to set that drive back to a "record" volume.

This should be a simple fix. Open up Pro Tools and from the top menu choose "Window" and then "Workspace." In the workspace window you should see your drive. Under the audio (A) column I'll bet you have it set to 'T' (Transfer). If you change that to 'R' (Record) or 'P' (Playback) your sessions on that drive should open fine. If you're recording audio to that drive then obviously set it to 'R' so that Pro Tools will recognize it as a record volume.

I've had this too. It happens when I turn on my external hard drive and boot PT at the same time.
