Buffer size error -9092 still cannot fix
Hi everyone there, I just upgrade my PC from pentium 4 to a Core 2 duo CPU
I was using the same operating system and pro tools runs without problem before but after changing my CPU and mainboard, I just cannot playback any audio in pro tools. (buffer size error -9092) I am using Pro tools LE 7.3.1 and already update the cs6 patch, with windows xp KB 896256 hotfix installed, disabled all USB / Firewire / Network device, and I have also followed the steps in General Troubleshooting - Pro Tools 6 & 7 Win XP for THREE times already. The problem just still here... I can't playback any audio with the error keeps popping up. I hope somebody can help me about this, the following is my computer detail MANY Thanks By the way i wonder if this problem will solve by upgrading to 7.4?... if it does I will purchase 7.4 and Vista immediately for any cost...@@ SiSoftware Sandra Processor Model : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz Speed : 3GHz Cores per Processor : 2 Unit(s) Threads per Core : 1 Unit(s) Type : Dual-Core Internal Data Cache : 2x 32kB, Synchronous, Write-Thru, 8-way, Inclusive, 64 byte line size L2 On-board Cache : 6MB, ECC, Synchronous, ATC, 24-way, Inclusive, 64 byte line size, 2 threads sharing System System : Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Re: Buffer size error -9092 still cannot fix
OK first; did you just plugin the same disk that had your original operating system on it? Or did you actually do a fresh Windows install after the motherboard and CPU upgrade? (hint: you should have done the fresh install)
Next, which Digidesign hardware are you using? The reason that I ask is that if it is any one of the firewire interfaces (002/002R, 003/003R, MBox2Pro) then this is a problem: Quote:
Which drive are you using for your sessions? The SATA or the ATA? (C or D?)

Thanks for the reply
1 - OK first; did you just plugin the same disk that had your original operating system on it? Or did you actually do a fresh Windows install after the motherboard and CPU upgrade? (hint: you should have done the fresh install) -I did a fresh Windows installation 2 - Next, which Digidesign hardware are you using? The reason that I ask is that if it is any one of the firewire interfaces (002/002R, 003/003R, MBox2Pro) then this is a problem: -I am using Mbox2Pro 3 - Quote: FireWire/1394 Controller/Hub : VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller Via firewire controllers are known to cause conflicts. Definitely recommended that you use one of the Qualified Firewire cards. - I was using this firewire card before my computer upgrade and it works just fine, maybe capability problem to my new mainboard?? 4 - Which drive are you using for your sessions? The SATA or the ATA? (C or D?) - I use C: (SATA) for the sessions, I have tried to use D: for session but it saids its not a proper audio playback / recording drive. Thanks for helping~ |

The VIA firewire chip is still an issue. Even if it worked in your other computer, they have been known to be troublesome on some systems.
