Default Re: 9092 error H/W buffer SOLUTION

So I've done some more tests. I tried with Reason 4 and it works perfectly with the firewire card. I then took the Mbox and firewire card to a friends house to test. I installed the firewire card and PT LE 7.4cs2 on his standard Dell Optiplex GX520 which is a standard dell computer with only 512mb ram and no fancy gear. Work perfectly. I even played back a 50+ track session I had from working on an HD rig (with the amount of voices it could allocate of course) and no problems at all !! So it looks like it's down to the motherboard. I guess graphic cards and ram doesn't cause problems for PT, so I'm gonna have to look into a new motherboard...can a moderator or Digi representative give me some clarification that this is the problem with my setup ?? That the GPU and ram is fine ??

Can someone give me some tips on what motherboard to get ? I still want to run my Q6600 quad core Intel

Same Here

My m/board was due to be changed but the PC dealer tried a different firewire card first and hey presto! Problem solved. Advice is make sure you use a compatible firewire card from the Digi website.
Hi Murt,

I've got problems with my P5K-VM with Q6600 on as well. Maby not a recommended combination at all then . . . anyways:

With what firewirecard is your system working ? As specified info as possible please.

I've now got a Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant 1394 Host Controller according to my system properties device manager. I hope that helps unless someone knows a way of finding out the exact model? I ran PC Wizard but it doesn't give me enough detail on the firewire.
