Default MIDI on PT LE 6.4 , Digi001.

Hi!

Does anybody recognize this problem on PT LE 6.4 for 001 - and maybe offer a solution?

Often when I track a MIDI part, for some strange reason, the recorded part is not being tracked in the time line where it was recorded. Also, long midi notes sounds like short 32 notes.

It is just fine to "paint" the notes using the mouse, but whenever I try recording from my M-Audio KeyStation 64 ES MIDI keyboard, the recording is unusable.

I connect using USB, that way I don't need a separate power adapter.
I haven't yet tried using good old MIDI cable though - will try later today.

But, hmm, why doesn't ever anything just work raight away ...

Cheers,
// J

Try the actual MIDI connection. I use an 001 on PT6.1, and the MIDI connect works great with an old Korg M1 as the controller. I'd think 6.4 would do the same for you.

By the way, can I ask you what hardware you're using? (P4? Clockspeed? etc.)I'm thinking of upgrading from 6.1 to 6.4, but I have a P4 at 1.6Ghz with .75 G Ram, and not sure if the upgrade will help me or hurt me...in other words,I think I'm right on the edge of my power...can't upgrade the box right now, but need some clues from people as to whether their move from 6.1 to 6.4 caused them probs.
thanx

Hi!

I am away from my PC setup at the moment, configuring a Mac for PT LE usage.

I think the problem is related to M-Audio - USB MIDI connection.

I will post my specs when I get back.

Thanks,
// J

Hi!

Only way to get this working is to use the built in MIDI ports on 001.

M-Audio Keystation 61Es->USB->PT LE simply won't work.

I guess I'll have to live with a separate power cord.

Cheers,

Hi
My set up is very much like yours and I don't have a problem with USB. Do you have the latest drivers for the Midiman ( I think they're Radium drivers -I'm not at my studio PC ). They're on the website anyway.

Hi!

Thanks, I havn't bothered trying new drivers lately (since I works the "old fashioned way") - but I will do that now since I will
need to move around this box soon and one cable less is alwasy good.

Cheers,
